Gaelic Medium Education

The opportunities available to receive Gaelic Medium Education have greatly expanded in Scotland since the first Gaelic unit opened in Inverness in 1988.


Gaelic Education Guide
Comann nam Pàrant have launched a booklet providing comprehensive information on Gaelic medium education from pre-school to secondary and beyond.

Highland Council
The Highland Council believes that Gaelic medium education represents the best hope for reversing the decline of Gaelic in the Highlands, especially if it is supported by opportunities for young people  to use Gaelic in the home and community.
